Matric examinations postponed in Sindh: minister

KARACHI: Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah on Friday announced to postpone matriculation examinations across the province, ARY News reported.

Addressing a protest demonstration by All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) and lower staff members at Karachi Press Club, Syed Sardar Ali Shah said that the examinations were postponed due to their strike as the matric boards could not complete their preparations.

He said that now the matriculation examinations would start from April 1 across the province. The minister assured the protesters that the no controlling authority was being established in the education department.

Earlier, in a meeting to deliberate on bringing reforms in the education sector, the Sindh government had taken some crucial decisions on January 2, including changing schedule of vacations and examinations and daily timing of educational institutes.

Presiding over a meeting of the Sindh education department’s steering committee, Provincial Education Minister Sardar Shah had said summer vacations will be observed in May and June.
