PM for efforts to reduce fares, prices of day-to-day items

In a letter written to the chief ministers of all the provinces, PM Nawaz Sharif advised them to make efforts for conveying the benefits of a wide slash in petroleum prices to common people.

He stated that now the provincial governments should ensure the advantages of the reduction reach the people.

The premier in his letter said that by the blessing of Almighty Allah, the economy of the state has started improving and the people of Pakistan should get a relief from the efforts made by the government.

“Government considerably reduced the prices of petroleum products during the past eight months and an overall drop of Rs 18 was observed in this span” said PM Nawaz.

He further stated that the role of provincial governments is important enough in this regard and the expectations of the public about reduction of fares of goods and public transport should be fulfilled.

The prime minister said that the people of the country expect that fares and prices of day-to-day commodities will be reduced now; it is now the provincial governments, which are to play their role in providing relief to the poverty-stricken masses.
