According to initial details, the execution of Saulat Mirza was stayed due to his shocking revelations about target killings and allegations on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders.
The video which surfaced hours before Mirza’s execution had the whole Pakistan in shock as the killer claimed that he killed KESC Managing Director Shahid Hamid on the order of party chief Altaf Hussain.

Interior Ministry contacted the President House to request a delay in Mirza’s execution to probe his allegations.
The request was granted as President Mamnoon Hussain delayed the killer’s hanging for 72 hours.
Saulat Mirza was to be hanged today (Thursday, March 19).
