The reference, which was filed on August 4 by Danial Aziz and other PML-N parliamentarians seeking disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, would have automatically stood referred to the ECP at the end of a 30-day period under Article 63 of the Constitution.
The reference filed by Shaikh Rashid against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been dismissed due to lack of evidence, sources said.
According to sources, the reference filed by the PML-N members on August 4, stated that Imran Khan had made misstatements about his property and sought his disqualification from the parliament seat.
“The reference seeking disqualification of the PTI chief has been received,” the election commission sources said. The commission proceed over the matter after reviewing it, sources added.
