Facebook has assigned ‘Memorialised Account’ status to the account of slain Mardan University Student Mashal Khan by paying a tribute to him, ARY News reported.
According to the social media networking website, the status has been put for friends and family to gather and share memories of the deceased.
The status generally provided to a person who suddenly passed away in an accident or a disease and their friends come on his Facebook account to pay tribute by sharing their mutual memories on the timeline.
The ‘Memorialised Account’ cannot be logged on by anyone else as word ‘Remembering’ will be shown next to the person’s name on their profile.
Week ago, 23-year-old Mashal Khan, a Journalism student at Abdul Wali Khan University in Mardan, was brutally murdered on April 13 by violent mob over blasphemy allegations.
Mashal Khan was considered to be a bright student by his teachers and class fellows who had high devotion to nature. All his friends and close ones are of opinion that Mashal was highly intellectual and inquisitive.
His cold-blooded murder caused a countrywide outrage with condemnation by intellectuals, artists, political and literary figures.
