The directives were issued at a meeting, presided over by the Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza, of the ECP held in Islamabad.
The meeting reviewed matters pertaining to holding of local government elections in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
Acting Secretary of Election Commission Usman Ali informed the meeting that progress had been made in delimitations in Sindh and Punjab. The acting secretary said holding of local bodies’ election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through biometric system was not possible before September next year.
He said a committee had also been constituted to review matters regarding local government system in Sindh.
