The ASWJ is protesting at Guru Mandir roundabout since Tuesday evening against alleged target killings of their activists across the city. They are demanding that attacks on their workers should be stopped and law enforcers must immediately nab the culprits.
Security has also been put on high alert in the red zone.
Talking to ARY News, ASWJ chief Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqui claimed that 10 of his workers had been extra-judicially killed in the city this year so far. He regretted that no government official contacted him over frequent attacks on his activists.
He announced that sit-ins would continue until his demands were met.
It may be noted here that hundreds of vehicles were stranded in traffic jams yesterday on I.I. Chundrigarh Road, M. R. Kayani Road, Sarwar Shaheed Road, Abdullah Haroon Road, South Napier Road, Old Outram Road, Hasrat Mohani Road, Wood Street, Shahrah-i-Kamal Ataturk, Burnes Road, Shahrah-i-Liaquat and parts of Saddar and Sharea Faisal. Similar traffic chaos is being witnessed today, thus making commuters to brave immense hardships.
