KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) observing the countrywide day of prayers (Youm-e-Duaa) for the party leader Altaf Hussain who has been detained in London on suspicion of money-laundering charges on June 3, ARY News reported on Friday.

The party workers will offer special prayers for health and well being of Altaf Hussain throughout the country as protest sit-ins entering in fourth day.

Altaf Hussain has been currently admitted at Wellington Hospital for medical check-up under police custody.

Altaf Hussain’s angiography procedure was conducted at the hospital.

Earlier, Afza Altaf, daughter of the MQM leader visited hospital and was allowed by the officials to meet her father.

According to sources, Altaf Hussain during the meeting with his daughter reassured her that he was well and in good condition. He further said that he has courage and believes that the truth and justice will prevail.

Moreover, the sit-ins in various cities of Sindh including Karachi and Hyderabad staged by the MQM supporters have entered in the fourth day. Sit-ins being staged to protest against the arrest of Altaf Hussain by the London Police under suspicion of money laundering.

The interim High Commissioner of Pakistan in London Imran Mirza visited Altaf Hussain at hospital on Thursday. He was also accompanied by two Consular Officers of the High Commission.

According to reports, the High Commissioner also presented a bouquet of flowers to Altaf Hussain, on behalf of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
