Quetta: Naik Muhammad, a resident of Sariab Road made the impossible seem possible by coming out to vote walking on his two hands. Disabled by both his feet, Muhammad feels that being a responsible citizen, a vote is something he owes to his country.
“It is an obligation on us”
However, after covering an unimaginable distance in the sweltering heat of Quetta, Naik Muhammad reached the polling station only to find out that his vote isn’t registered in the particular area but there was nothing that could kill his determination.
“Today till 5 pm wherever my registration is, I will find it and cast my vote.”
Naik Muhammaad is an example for all those who fail to fulfill their responsibility towards their homeland. Despite of being blessed with every convenience in the world. It is with this zeal and fervor that democratic societies can be taken to unprecedented heights.
Like Abraham Lincoln said, “Elections belong to the people. It’s their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire then they will just have to sit on their blisters.”
