PIA has increased the fares for Umrah despite reduction in jet fuel prices.
The fares for pilgrims for Karachi, Islamabad and Quetta have been increased by Rs. 7,0000 whereas the pilgrims from Peshawar and Multan will have to pay additional Rs. 7000 to Rs. 8000.
A spokesman of the national airliner said that the fares have been increased as the flights return to Pakistan empty whereas additional flights are operated in the Umrah season.
The revised fares will be applicable from 23rd December.
The pilgrims have slammed the sharp increase in the Umrah fares and demanded the authorities to immediately revert the decision.
