PM spokesman denies Musharraf’s claims

ISLAMABAD: A spokesman of the Prime Minister’s Office has rejected former army chief General Pervaiz Musharraf’s claims in an interview regarding his departure from Pakistan and his tensions with Nawaz Sharif, ARY News reported.

In a statement Spokesperson of the PM House categorically denied the comments made by ex-army chief Pervaiz Musharraf during an interview. Musharraf in his interview had claimed that his differences with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif started when the premier told him to remove two serving major generals under his command.

The spokesperson termed this statement as “utterly baseless, malicious, untrue and concocted.”

Musharraf also claimed in interview to a news channel that the premier could not raise Kashmir issue with the Indian government-led by Atal Bihari Vajapayee at that time.

He also claimed that he was appointed army chief on merit.

Musharraf had also disclosed that former chief of army staff general Raheel Sharif struck had play a role and provided him a safe passage to leave Pakistan.

It should be noted that former military ruler of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf, who is presently in abroad, facing a treason case for proclamation of emergency in year 2007 and high profile murder cases in Pakistan.
