KARACHI: Law-enforcement and intelligence agencies conducted a overnight raid on Sunday at the house of the owner of the Omni Group, ARY News reported.
The raid was conducted at a house located in Phase 8 of the Defence Housing Authority, where a large amount of weapons and ammunition were recovered. Two security guards were also taken into custody.
Salman Khawaja, the head of the Omni Group, has reportedly been advised from leaving the country. The company is said to be owned by Anwar Majeed who is considered to be a close aide of former president Asif Ali Zardari.

Rangers on Friday had conducted several raids at three separate offices of the Omni Group and took five people into custody and recovered weapons from their possession.
The raids were mired into controversy as Zardari had arrived in Karachi after staying abroad for over a year, and received a tremendous welcome by party loyalists.
The paramilitary had lodged cases at the Saddar and Mithadar police stations against Khawaja and the company management under the Anti-Terrorism Act for illegal possession of weapons and allegedly providing insurance coverage to terrorists.
It is also known that there is close vigilance on Khawaja, and airport authorities have been informed to bar him from managing to move out of the country.
