LAHORE: Flight operations remained affected at Allama Iqbal International airport, Lahore on Friday owing to heavy fog as 10 international and domestic flights were canceled, ARY News reported.
A Lahore-bound flight of private airline EY-241 from Abdu Dhabi was canceled due to fog. PK-186 from Sharjah to Lahore, Lahore bound PK-204 flight from Dubai, PA-406 from Lahore to Karachi, PK-306 from Karachi to Lahore, PK-302 Karachi-Lahore and PIA’s flight PK-303 scheduled to land Lahore from Karachi were also canceled.
Dense fog has blanketed different cities of Punjab, including Lahore on night between Thursday and Friday, paralysing routine life and disrupting road and air traffic.
The thick fog has badly affected the flow of road traffic in several cities of Punjab. According to a Motorway spokesman, the Motorway Section from Thokar to Kot Momin (M2), Motorway Section from Lahore to Samundri (M3), Motorway Section from Bahi Interchange to Gojra Interchange (M4), Multan Motorway (M5) from Uch Sharif to Zahir Pir and Motorway Section from Lahore to Sialkot (M11) have been closed as visibility was very poor.
