Some of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s social-media accounts were hacked, with the attackers posting messages on profile walls to show off their access.
The hacker(s) — who use the name OurMine Team — managed to get into Zuckerberg’s Twitter and Pinterest accounts, and they also claimed to have broken into his Instagram account, though Facebook denied this to VentureBeat and there doesn’t seem to be any evidence of it.
Tech news magazine Engadget took a screengrab of the Tweet in which OurMine said: “Hey @finkd (Mark Zuckerberg’s Twitter handle) we got access to your Twitter & Instagram & Pinterest, we are just testing your security, please dm (direct message) us.”
Back in 2012, Zuckerberg’s LinkedIn account got hacked as well.
Twitter reacted quickly to the hack, temporarily suspending his account before reinstating it with the tweet deleted.
The hackers claimed that they found his password – dadada – in the details of stolen LinkedIn accounts which were leaked online last month.
Almost 120 million LinkedIn username and passwords combinations were stolen four years ago, and recently appeared on the black market dark web.
It appears Mr Zuckerberg may have used the same password across multiple accounts.
