KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) coordination committee (Rabita Committee) on Saturday announced to withdraw the letter sent to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and go to PIB Colony to bring party convener Farooq Sattar back to Bahadurabad, MQM-P headquarters.
“The coordination committee has made many other decisions as well, but the matter of the letter is primary. Farooq Sattar has expressed apprehensions over the letter written by the coordination committee to the ECP,” said Kunwar Naveed Jamil while announcing withdrawal of the letter in a press conference along other coordination committee members.
The committee had written to the ECP apprising it that the committee members had the authority to nominate for the upcoming Senate elections, which was deemed by the estranged party chief as breach of party’s code of conducts.

A rift has erupted in MQM-P over ticketing Kamran Tessori for Senate elections, while Farooq Sattar has said the matter was beyond issuing party tickets.
Kunwar said some senior activists brought the Farooq Sattar’s message to them. The MQM-P convener had set withdrawal of the letter as a pre-condition to return to the headquarters, he said.
He said all the deputy conveners were going to PIB. He said they would take extreme measures to protect the party from breach and division.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said they would motivate their party chief to return to Bahadurabad
“In sha Allah! We are going with the hope that God will make our efforts fruitful,” he said.
