RAWALPINDI: The chairman of Pakistan Electronic and Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) Muhammad Saleem Baig called on Director General (DG) of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Tuesday.
According to details, the military’s media wing informed that a meeting took place between the Pemra chief and DG ISPR to discus measures to facilitate Pakistani media in projecting a positive image and narrative of the country.
The two dignitaries also deliberated on the possible support that could be provided to the local media in effectively countering anti-Pakistan narrative at play through certain foreign media or inimical forces, the statement issued by ISPR read.
A day earlier, a delegation of journalists from Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and Hazara Division visited the ISPR and interacted with its Director General Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor.
According to a statement issued by the ISPR, journalists shared their feedback on security situation and development work undertaken by the Pakistan Army.
The DG ISPR apprised them about the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and Indian Ceasefire Violations (CFV), including deliberately targeting of innocent civilians from across the frontier dividing the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The DG ISPR said that Pakistan looks for peace yet any misadventure shall be responded befittingly.
