LAHORE: The arrangements for ‘All Party Conference’ on Model Town incident organized by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) have been finalized, ARY News reported Sunday.
Mutahidda Qaumi Movement and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Jamaat-e-Islami have confirmed their participation in the APC.3
Dr. Tahirul Qadri-led PAT has convened the APC to discuss ‘state terrorism’ in the Model Town, Lahore incident in which over a dozen people were killed when police had opened fire on PAT protesters outside their party secretariat.
PML-Q leader Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain , in a meeting with Dr. Qadri, briefed him about participation of other political parties in the conference.
They also discussed to issue a joint declaration in the APC on Lahore incident.
Meanwhile, Dr. Qadri telephoned MQM chief Altaf Hussain yesterday in which the latter assured participation of his party representatives in the conference. They agreed to bring the culprits of Model Town tragedy to book.
