Bilawal says want to give message to those attempting to discredit PPP

FAISALABAD/JARANWALA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday carried his election campaign in south Punjab, saying that are sending a message to those elements who attempted to discredit their party.

“We would like to give a message to those who thinking that by martyring Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto they can finish off the party, but we will not let this happen,” he said addressing party workers in Faisalabad.

The PPP chairman addressed two separate campaign rallies in the town of Jaranwala and another in Faisalabad to introduce their manifesto.

Bilawal said this was not just the start of his political career but rather a lifelong struggle to serve the people, which was their tradition and now the third-generation was seeking follow them.

He said that he brought their manifesto and has come to carry forward the vision of Benazir Bhutto and solve the people’s problems, and said the PPP has always a revolutionary manifesto.

He reiterated their struggle was not against any political party but rather against poverty, disparity and other social injustices. He stated that PPP was the only party struggling against poverty and provided BISP cards during its last tenure which was the ‘gold standard’ against poverty alleviation.

He said the party will introduce people’s poverty reduction programme to provide employment to women to become contributing members of society. He also said the would also hunger eradication programme which envisages setting up women-run centres to provide food items and reduced prices.

Furthermore, he said that PPP has farmer-friendly manifesto which includes providing subsidies and insurance on crops to received compensation from disasters. Therefore, he said the first step would be to vote for them in the general elections on July 25.
