KARACHI: In a shocking incident, an 11-year-old student died after falling off his school building in Karachi’s Federal B Area on Monday, ARY News reported.
The 11-year-old student named Habibullah a resident of Samanabad was found dead outside his school in mysterious circumstances with police terming the death as “suicide”.
According to ARY News correspondent, the seventh-grade student was found dead soon after his arrival in school as his body was found during the prayers’ assembly session.
Police, after interviewing the deceased’s family, maintained that Habibullah was a diabetes patient and committed suicide after jumping off the school building to bring an end to his sufferings.
The deceased’s family, however, denies this claim.
The 11-year-old’s mother and aunt suspect someone was there with her child and may have thrown him off the building The family categorically denied the police’s claim that Habibullah was under severe mental stress and took his own life.
“He was good, he had his breakfast and then he went to school,” his sister told media.
Habibullah’s friends and class fellows maintained that he died during the prayers’ assembly when no student is allowed to stay out of class.
Police say there were no cameras installed inside school and the only footage available shows the 11-year-old falling from second or fourth floor of the school building.
