Business-friendly policies bearing fruit: President Alvi

LAHORE: President Dr. Arif Alvi on Thursday said that the business-friendly policies, adopted by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government were bearing fruit, ARY News reported.  

Addressing second edition of the international textile exhibition in Lahore, Dr. Arif Alvi said that foreign investment was increasing in Pakistan due to improved security situation in the country.

He urged the business community to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan and added that the government developed special economic zones and introduced e-visa facility for different countries to encourage investors.

The president said that the current government was providing every possible facility to traders so as to restore business activities in the country. He said that Lahore is a historical city and added that there was a number of tourist spots in the country. Dr. Arif Alvi said that the government was also taking measures to boost tourism in the country.

Earlier, paying tribute to the armed forces and the nation for their unmatched sacrifices rendered in war against terrorism, President Dr Arif Alvi on March 14 had said that confidence of overseas investors increased due to the restoration of peace in the country.

Addressing business leaders’ summit in Islamabad, President Arif Alvi had said that Pakistan had successfully defeated the menace of terrorism due to  the efforts of security forces and it has embarked on a path of development.

He had said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) government had been providing all out facilities to domestic and foreign investors by ensuring ease of doing business, eradication of corruption and transparency in the country.
