KARACHI: A new zoological garden named ‘Dan Zoo’ has been inaugurated in Karachi under the aegis of Bahria Town.
According to Bahria Town statement, this is Pakistan’s first international standard zoo, and its ‘scintillating’ opening ceremony was attended by noted personalities from the world of business, showbiz, sports and media, alongside the top management of Bahria Town Karachi.
Admiral Hayat, COO Bahria Town Karachi was the chief guest at the ceremony. In his address, Mr. Hayat said ‘Dan Zoo is a new addition to Karachi’s tourist attractions.
He said the community lifestyle and healthy recreation is the goal of Bahria Town. He said the establishment of Pakistan’s first day and night zoo would provide an opportunity to the residents of Bahria Town to enjoy the beautiful evenings of the coastal city.
Hayat said a large number of local and exotic animals have been kept in the Dan Zoo. They include the African lion, white lion, Bengal tiger, Cheetah, Asian black bear, various type of deer, crocodile, ostrich, peacocks and several types of ducks kept in the beautiful surroundings. Spread over 70 acres, the zoological space, has been divided into several large areas and each part has been assigned the name of an animal.
