ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government on Thursday decided to expand federal cabinet by inducting another member. ARY News reported citing well informed sources.
According to sources, the prime minister has decided to extend the federal cabinet and one of the government’s allies, the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) as one its leaders, Moonis Elahi is likely to get a ministry.
Moonis Elahi, son of Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Elahi, is likely to be given the Ministry of Industries, sources privy to the development said.
The final announcement in this regard will be made next week.
It may be recalled that, with the induction of five new ministers last month on October 5, currently, the number of federal cabinet members has increased by 32.
Back in the month of September, six new members of the cabinet were administered oath at the President House in Islamabad.
President Arif Alvi had administered the oath to the new federal cabinet members including Omar Ayub Khan, Ali Muhammad Khan Mehar, Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, Muhammad Shabir Ali, Murad Saeed and Muhammad Hammad Azhar.
