LAHORE: PML-N leader and Law Minister Punjab Rana Mashood said Dr. Tahirul Qadri has maligned Pakistan with his ‘protest’, ARY News reported Saturday.
Speaking to media, the minister said there was no bar on Dr. Qadri’s political workers to stage protest, but registering such protests on strategic assets including airports and parliament of the country are not tolerable, he added.
We agreed on their [Dr. Qadri’s] demand as a democratic gesture, said the minister.
The law minister said a big historic operation against militants was underway in North Waziristan. It’s our utmost priority to protect citizens, he said, adding we won’t allow democratic process to be derailed,.
He told that government was trying to devise code of conduct for the media.
He alleged that PAT workers assaulted the police during Model Town incident. He said PAT workers also attempted to seize the Lahore airport.
