ISLAMABAD: Power Division has decided to take strict action against electricity defaulters countrywide, Radio Pakistan reported on Friday.
“The electricity distribution companies are actively engaged in this regard”, the statement issued by the Power Division read.
Comprehensive lists of running and dead or disconnected defaulters containing their complete information have been prepared by the DISCOs.
In first phase, lists of all defaulters above one million rupees across the country will be published after the deadline of 30th of this month.
These lists will also be posted on websites of concerned DISCOs and Power Information Technology Company website.
As per directions of Power Division after 30th of this month, these defaulters will be proceeded against including proceeding to action of properties of defaulters under the present revenue laws.

The DISCOs will ensure that no disconnected and dead defaulter gets electricity from any other alternative source.
Similarly the connections of running defaulters will be disconnected after the deadline of payment of dues and their properties will be proceeded against as per revenue laws.
Earlier on April 24, Minister for Power Omar Ayub had claimed to have recovered Rs51bn from power sector during the last four months across the country.
Responding to a calling attention notice moved by Fazal Muhammad Khan, Minister for Power Omar Ayub had said that the present government initiated a drive to improve recoveries and check power theft.
