ISLAMABAD: Real estate tycoon Malik Riaz on Friday said he met ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif to inquire about the health of his ailing wife, putting to rest the rumours about the latter seeking through him the support of Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
Riaz had met Sharif at the latter’s Jati Umra residence on Thursday (yesterday).
Subsequently, rumours began circulating that Sharif wanted the PPP co-chairman to help him out of the present crisis facing the family, forcing the property tycoon to clarify his position.
In a series of tweets, he said, “All speculations on meeting NS[Nawaz Sharif] are incorrect. I don’t carry pol. [political] baggage of anyone & don’t ve [have] any political motivations, agenda or role whatsoever.

Sharif seemed to have been in a tight political spot after his disqualification at the hands of the Supreme Court in the Panama Papers and subsequent filing of graft references against him and his family members by NAB.
