OKARA: Police on Monday arrested a school teacher for sexually abusing students at a private school in Okara district of Punjab province, ARY News reported.
According to ARY News Okara correspondent Zulfiqar Malik, police, on a tip off, raided a school in Hujra Shah Muqeem town of Okara district and arrested a school teacher named Yousuf for sexually abusing children and filming the act.
The suspect, who was running a school in the town by the name of Al-Hafiz school is said to be involved in sexually abusing children and filming the act to blackmail the victims.
Police also claimed to have found a number of objectionable videos from a school room and have registered a criminal case against the suspect.
The case comes at a time when Pakistan is still reeling from the ape and murder of seven-year-old Zainab Ansari in Kasur.
Kidnapped on January 4 and found from a garbage heap on January 9, Zainab’s autopsy report suggested that the minor was sexually assaulted before being strangulated to death.
On January 21, the Supreme Court gave three days’ time to a joint investigation team formed to probe the rape and murder of Zainab to track down the culprit.
The JIT arrested the culprit named Imran Arshad on January 23 after the DNA proved that he was behind the rape and murder of Zainab and at least eight other girls from Kasur.
