LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Tuesday that the former corrupt rulers looted the finite resources of the country and filled their pockets.
In a statement in Lahore, he said the former rulers gave gift of load-shedding adding that the country was reeling under energy crisis because they did not pay heed to resolve it.
Had the past rulers taken measures to end the crisis, the country would have been brought out of darkness, the chief minister further said.
Shahbaz said the 1320 megawatt Sahiwal Coal Power Plant has been completed in a record period of twenty two months.
Slamming political opponents, he said they played with the economy. Those playing with the country’s future were not in favor of its progress and prosperity, he added.
Shahbaz hoped that his party will win the next general elections.
He said on the one hand there were those looting resources, on the other those increasing hardships for masses by indulging in negative politics.
The opposition is trying to impede the journey of progress and development of the country, he added.
