VEHARI: Yet in another incident, an oil tanker overturned on Vehari’s Sinchawala road on Sunday, ARY News reported.
Soon after the incident, locals reached the crashing site and began drawing fuel from the oil container.
No rescue team and authorities concerned reached the venue to keep the local away from the site despite the Bahawalpur oil-tanker explosion that claimed over 200 lives last month.
ARY News footage showed the local people filling drums with diesel by using a tube to take out it. The tanker is reportedly carrying thousands of litres of diesel.
In last few weeks, a rise has been witnessed in such incidents sparking fear among the people particularly in wake of Bahawalpur oil tanker inferno.
Last day, a driver was killed when another oil-laden container turned turtle on the Super Highway near Hyderabad.
It should be recalled here that on June 25 – a day before Eid – a speeding oil tanker overturned and caught fire due to oil leakage on National Highway near Ahmedpur Sharqia, Bahawalpur, claiming over 190 lives.
