According to details, unknown assailants targeted the cops while they were on their way to their post to take charge of duty.
The attackers fired several shots and easily fled the scene.
The injured traffic cops, Chan Zaib and Mehdi Zaman, were immediately shifted to a hospital.
Medico-legal sources said that the cop Mehdi Zaman was in precarious condition at the hospital, however the bullet-proof vest helped Chan Zaib avoid a serious injury.
