Ishtiaque Chaudhary Advocate had filed a petition against pharmaceutical companies. He pleaded in his plea that pharma companies in connivance with government officials and ministers hiked drugs prices to a manifold degree.
He said only drug regulatory authority was entitled to re-adjust prices of medicines and not the federal government or pharmaceutical companies.
The LHC bench questioned the decision of medicine companies of raising prices of drugs on their own will.
The court also ordered to club all identical petitions in this regard and sought replies from the Punjab government and the federal government in two weeks.
