The Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) is mulling over the option following their humiliating exit from this year’s ICC T20 Men’s Cricket World Cup. The former champions do not usually have split captaincy.

The governing body will probably not consider a new ODI captain because the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup will be contested on their home soil next year.

The all-rounder had an impressive outing in this year’s 20-over world cup. He scored 128 runs from six matches at an average of 25.60 and a half-century to his name.
He bagged eight wickets in the world cup.
It should be noted that Hardik Pandya is already leading the former champions in the ongoing T20 series against New Zealand. Shikhar Dhawan is the frontman of the 50-over side.
KL Rahul, who opens with Rohit Sharma, is India’s vice-captain across all three formats. Being an all-format player, he is expected to not participate in several T20 matches ahead of the 50-over world championship.
