Both the governors exchanged views on current political crisis of the country. Sarwar reached Karachi following special directives from the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The governor Punjab also telephoned Jamaat-e-Islami general secretary Liaquat Baloch and praised the JI for its efforts for mediation between the government and protesters.
He said the six demands of the protesters led by Imran Khan and Dr. Tahirul Qadri had been met except the one seeking resignation of the prime minister.
The second phase of talks will begin at 6pm today.
