LAHORE: A Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supporter on Monday was mercilessly beaten up by security guards when he tried to approach ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to shake his hand with him at an event in Lahore.
TV footage showed a man running towards the stage where the former premier, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and other party leaders were sitting.
As soon as he approached the former premier, security guards standing nearby pounced upon him, beating him up mercilessly.
Later, when the things settled down, the PML-N supreme leader called the emotional supporter and hugged him.
The ceremony was organized in connection with ‘Youm-e-Takbeer’ (the day of greatness) to commemorate the historic nuclear tests conducted by Pakistan on May 28, 1998.
