The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said that decision was made on the directives of the Sindh High Court. The ECP had released the schedule for the elections two days ago.
The SHC said that the elections cannot be held till the completion of the electoral college. The decision has prolonged the process to complete the vacant seats in local bodies government.
The elections on reserved seats for women, peasants, youth and religious minorities which were scheduled to take place on 24th May have also been postponed.
