According to details, more than a hundred people got sick after eating unhealthy food at a wedding function in the city’s Bilal Ganj area. The sick were provided medical care at the Mayo Hospital, as thirty still remained hospitalized.
Hospital sources revealed that around 12 am, several children, adults and women reached Mayo Hospital’s Emergency room and complained of stomach problems and vomiting. It was later ascertained that all patients had attended the Walima function of a certain Javed Gujjar’s son. The hospital administration provided a report of the incident to Gawalmandi police. Police has initiated an inquiry into the matter but a case hasn’t been registered against anyone as of yet.
