KARACHI: Fire erupted in a warehouse situated at Karachi Dockyard in the port area of the city on Saturday morning, ARY News reported.
Eight fire tenders, six of Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and two of Pakistan Navy, were engaged in extinguishing the fire in the area adjacent to commercial shipyard,.
According to ARY News Reporter Asif Khan, no loss of life has been reported so far and the blaze has been under control after four hours of fire-fighting.
The fire erupted due to short circuit in the godown this morning, where food items were to be stored, officials said.
In another incident in January this year, at least five people were killed and another injured when fire broke out in Gaddani ship-breaking yard in Hub.
In another fire incident back in November 2016, at least 26 people died and 58 others were injured in a series of explosions that occurred during work on oil tanker of a ship again in Gaddani ship-breaking yard.
