The 18-year-old Shahnawaz was admitted to a government hospital for treatment but the disease proved fatal. He was a resident of Sheedi Goth Malir.
According to officials, all the nine deaths have been reported in Karachi.
It is pertinent to mention here that last year at least 1,295 cases of dengue fever were reported from Sindh. Of them, 1,277 victims belonged to Karachi.
While there were 17 dengue patients who died last year. The death toll from the dengue was 32 in 2013.
