Afghan parliamentary delegation seeks to increase bilateral collaboration

According to a statement issued by the FO, Sartaj Aziz warmly welcomed the delegates and emphasized that brotherly relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan were marked by common religion, geography, history and strong people-to-people contacts.

Underlining peace in Afghanistan as mutual interest, Aziz reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued support in the efforts for bringing long-term peace and stability in Afghanistan through an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process.

On the occasion, Speaker Abdul Raouf  Ibrahimi said that destinies of  Pakistan and Afghanistan were intertwined and the two countries should continue their concerted efforts for increasing collaboration including through frequent parliamentary exchanges.

The Afghan parliamentary delegation is on a visit to Pakistan from Feb 23 to 27 at the invitation of Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
