Now, we are disappointed to inform you that Deepika is no more in the running for the film and has reportedly not been selected during the auditions.
A sources informed an Indian news channel that Deepika had auditioned for the the role of an Asian princess that Tom Cruise thinks about in a flashback moment. The audition took place in Los Angeles more than two months ago and Deepika was waiting for a reply from the film organisers.
It was not a major role but Deepika was keen on working with the versatile Mission Impossible star. The film is a reboot of The Mummy franchise which originally starred Brandon Fraiser. It is expected to be released on 9th June, 2017.
It seems that maybe Deepika efforts in this regard did end up gone in smokes but the fact that she was in the running for a role in a Tom Cruise starrer is quite a high in itself.
However, Deepika will be seen in the Hollywood film xXx: The Return of Xander Cage starring Vin Diesel which will be released on 20 January, 2017.
Indian actress Huma Qureshi had also auditioned for the same part but she also did not hear back from them.
