MARDAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Monday invited people to the party’s historic political gathering at the iconic Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on April 29.
Addressing a political rally in Mardan, the PTI chairman said they held a historic 126-day sit-in in Islamabad, which was the longest in the history of democracy, and raised awareness among the people of the country.
Imran Khan strongly criticised Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maualana Fazlur Rehman, questioning his services to Islam, and saying that there is no need for any Jewish conspiracies in his presence.
“Maulana says that I am a Jewish conspiracy. I think that there is no need for any conspiracies in his presence,” he said adding that he cannot work together with Maulana Fazl, who grabs every opportunity to form alliance with those in power.
Imran welcomed those who have joined the PTI saying time will tell the decision for made for their ideology and for the sake of the country.
He said that those who have plundered the nation’s wealth are criticising the state’s institutions, and attack the residence of a judge of the Supreme Court.
He said the Joint Investigation just pointed out the money laudered from the country, adding that Panamagate JIT head Wajid Zia who is currently testifying in court, should not be worried as the whole nation is with him.
“Wajid Zia should not be worried. The whole nation stand with him,” he said adding that they will show on April 29 that the nation is with the Supreme Court.
He also lashed at former prime minister Nawaz Sharif saying that those ousted are also proclaiming to defend democracy. “Nawaz Sharif was prime minister thrice, and was disqualified four times,” he said.
He said that it was the first time that a powerful person was being held accountable by the judiciary. “We will gather on April 29 at Minar-e-Pakisan. The people will come out.”
He also praised performance the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa saying that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has the least protocol than all other provinces.
He vowed that the nation will never be indebted, and ask to point of if the KP government has used any funds on itself in the last five years. He said that KP has the most improved healthcare, education, police system, and a tree plantation environmental programme.
Imran Khan said those who have sold their conscience will be expelled from the party, even if that caused losses in the elections.
“Those who sold their conscience will be thrown out from the party, even if we lose the election” he said adding that that such individual have no place in the party.
He called to get ready for the next elections. He said FATA will be merged with KP on a first priority if they win the elections, and that Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Mehmood Khan Achakzai were the biggest obstacles.
He said the merger of FATA with KP will usher in new era of development, adding that the grievances of the tribal areas were being exploited against the army.
