KARACHI: A young student of a private school in Karachi on Wednesday passed away in a mysterious manner during recess time, ARY News reported.

According to details, Muhammed Zonain, student of grade III, was standing in queue of canteen at the school in Shah Faisal area when he became unsteady and suddenly fell unconscious.

The news of death has triggered panic. The school administration said the child was rushed to hospital but he could not survive.

The administration said the boy suffered an epileptic seizure, which has been repudiated by the family saying that he had never contracted any such disease.

The school administration suggested for post-mortem, which has been rejected by the victim’s family saying that it would further hurt the kid.

The hospital administration has refused to comment on the incident.

It is pertinent here to mention that a few days ago a student fell off from roof of a school in Karachi. Police had declared this incident a suicide.

Last month, a police team held school administration responsible for an 11-year-old student’s death who they assume jumped from the school building’s rooftop to end his life.

According to a report prepared by the investigation team, school administration’s negligence and violation of several safety and building rules allowed the incident in which an 11-year-old student Habibullah fell from the building and died on October 8.

The report maintained that the child was suffering from diabetes and his poor family was unable to afford his medical treatment and his educational expenses so it can be assumed that he may have committed suicide.

The report states that school administration’s negligence was equally responsible for the death as the administration built four class rooms on the rooftop and the boundary wall around the rooftop too was not high enough to prevent any untoward incident, all in violation of Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) rules.
