Govt to resolve issues facing madrassah students: Faisal Vawda

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda on Saturday said the government would resolve all the issues facing students of madrassahs, ARY News reported.

“The government will also try to resolve visa issues of foreign students of madrassahs,” he said this following a meeting with Mufti Taqi Usmani of Darul Uloom Karachi.

On this occasion, Faisal Vawda condemned the attack on Mufti Taqi Usmani a day earlier and, on behalf of Prime Minister Imran Khan, inquired about his health. He expressed sorrow over killing of the security guard and injuring of others in the tragic incident.

The federal minister assured the revered religious scholar of provision of complete cooperation and security.

“Mufti Taqi Usmani has rendered great sacrifices for Islam and Pakistan,” he said. He said people targeted madrassahs for political reasons.

Earlier, he had directed the Karachi police chief for full security to Mufti Taqi Usmani.

Funeral prayer of martyred police constable Farooq was offered at Darul Uloom Karachi after Asar prayer.

On March 22, Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi and Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani had vowed swift action against the culprits who assaulted Mufti Taqi Usmani.

Condemning the incident, Shehryar Afridi had directed immediate action against the assailers. He termed the attack on revered religious personality as attack on peace of Pakistan.

Separately, Saeed Ghani had called on Mufti Taqi Usmani at the Darul Uloom and inquired about his health.

He had vowed to expose and finish the culprits behind this attack.

“Enemies of peace want to spoil peace through such incidents,” he had said.
