In a recent podcast outing with YouTuber Nadir Ali, Babar Ali criticized Deol’s comeback movie ‘Gadar 2’, released earlier this year.
Initially congratulating the Bollywood contemporary for his big screen return with a huge Box Office success, the ‘Kuch Ankahi’ star condemned the film and slammed Deol for his recurring practice of inharmonious titles, specifically against Pakistan.
He said, “You can remake films, but if you denigrate Pakistan, I cannot respect you.”

“I’m not here to discourage you from contributing positively to your own country, but that should not come at the expense of tarnishing Pakistan’s image,” Ali addressed Deol.
The seasoned actor continued, “Pakistan has produced numerous films, and we’ve never disparaged any country. This is the fundamental difference between us and them. We always extend respect to artists, and when he visited Pakistan, we welcomed him wholeheartedly.”
The sequel to the 2001 period drama, ‘Gadar 2’, helmed and produced by Anil Sharma, starred Deol with Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma. With its massive Box Office success, the title is currently the third-highest-grossing Indian film of the year.
