Asia Bibi was awarded capital penalty for committing blasphemy four years ago by a court in Nankana Sahab. She had allegedly gave blasphemous statements during a verbal spat with a woman .
She has stated in the appeal that she was wrongly accused in the case and the Sessions Court had announced the verdict without hearing sufficient testimonies.
Asia Bibi appealed the court to declare her sentences as void.
It should be noted that Lahore High Court (LHC) had earlier rejected her appeal.
