In a rural area of North Carolina state in U.S, grazing cows played an unexpected role in helping police locate a fugitive.
The incident occurred when police officers from the Town of Boone and sheriff’s deputies from Watauga County were chasing a man who had fled a traffic signal.
The suspect abandoned his vehicle and fled into an undeveloped area, leaving the officers unsure of his exact whereabouts. However, the cows in a nearby field proved to be unlikely informants when they led the police directly to where the suspect was hiding.
According to authorities, the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Joshua Russell Minton, had hidden in the field but was soon exposed by the annoyed bovines. The police officers were grateful for the unexpected assistance and successfully arrested the suspect.
Boone police shared the incident on their Facebook page, highlighting the helpfulness of the local cows.
