ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Thursday said that the judiciary has been making efforts to ensure implementation of laws and provision of justice to the masses.
Addressing an event of lawyers here, Justice Nisar said that the judiciary is performing very well. “We have taken on challenge to provide justice to the people deprived of their fundamental rights,” the CJP underlined.
He said the long prevailing period of injustice has finally come to an end with the efforts of lawyers’ activism.
The chief justice stressed for provision of justice and rule of law for the survival of the country. “We have to avoid confrontation but perform our duties in compliance with the law,” Justice Nisar asserted.
Enumerating the virtues of judges, he said an ideal adjudicator should not be hesitant in making fair decisions. “I am not against any person, only following my oath. I have took the oath of provision of justice.”
“Fear, expediency and self interest are lethal poison for a judge. The judges should take decisions without any fear,” the chief justice said. “A strong judicial system is imperative for a society to prosper,” he added.
He also stressed for collaborative efforts for future social prosperity and integrity. He called upon the community of judges to join his campaign for delivering quick justice and resolving the basic civic-issues with passion.
