ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday said Prime Minister Imran Khan will grace the ‘Defence and Martyrs Day’ ceremony as chief guest at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. 

In a twitter statement, the minister expressed love for the motherland and announced: “Prime Minister Imran Khan will grace ‘Defence and Martyrs Day’ Ceremony on 6 Sep 18 at GHQ as Chief Guest.”


Defence and Martyrs Day will be observed across the country on Thursday. Yesterday, Corps Commanders Conference held in Rawalpindi with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa in the chair paid a rich tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan.

The army chief directed that field formations should reach out to the families of martyrs in their respective areas as mark of respect and acknowledgment of their great sacrifices.
