ISLAMABAD: The secretary of Karachi Port Qasim Authority passed away on Tuesday after suffering a cardiac arrest during a session of the Senate standing committee on maritime affairs.
Muhammad Saqib, aged 52, was attending the committee’s session when he suffered serious chest pain and collapsed. He was recommended to be shifted to hospital by the senate’s dispensary unit.
However, there was no ambulance present in the parliament houses to take him to hospital. Afterwards, chairman Senate Raza Rabbani instructed to send him to hospital in his personal car.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
