DERA GHAZI KHAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa, who was declared victorious in NA-290, Deraz Ghazi Khan, lost the seat after recounting of votes on Friday.
Losing candidate Amjad Farooq Khan Khosa, who contested election independently, approached the district returning officer concerned requesting him to order a recount of votes.
After the recounting of votes, the DRO issued a fresh Form 47, showing Zulfiqar trailing behind Muhammad Amjad Khan with 71, 964 votes. The independent candidate received 72,189 votes and was declared victorious.
According to a spokesperson for the DRO, votes of one polling stations were not counted owing to a clerical error on Thursday.
A day earlier, the PTI candidate was declared winner with a margin of 117 votes while after recount his rival candidate won the seat with a margin of 225 votes.
