ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Friday lauded the efforts of security forces during an operation against terrorists in Peshawar earlier today.

Addressing Seerat conference here, Khan said police and army personnel prevented a tragedy to occur in Peshawar after a timely operation.

“I salute all those security personnel who took part in the operation,” he said.

He said the province has been hit by worst wave of terrorism for last a decade. “The role of police and other security agencies are appreciable for countering menace of terrorism,” he underlined.

On the occasion, he also expressed condolences with victims of the Peshawar Agriculture Directorate terror attack.

Moreover, he praised the teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) while stating that his teachings are beacon of light for the entire humanity.

Earlier today, four ‘burqa-clad’ terrorists stormed the Peshawar Agricultural Training Institute under the cover of fire this morning, killing at least nine persons including a student and injuring 35 others.

All the attackers were killed by security forces in around two-hours long operation.

Of those nine dead, six bodies were brought to Hayatabad Medical Complex, while three were taken to Khyber Teaching Hospital, confirmed sources.
